Is this car check free?
Yes. We read the vehicle record straight from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service. No payment, no signup, and we don't log who looked at what.
What details will I see?
Make, colour, year of manufacture, fuel type, engine size, CO2 emissions, current tax status and tax due date, MOT status and MOT expiry. Where MOT history is available, we show the last five tests.
Can I see the owner?
No. DVLA does not share owner information through this service. Only general vehicle data is returned.
What if the registration is not recognised?
We'll tell you cleanly. Some imports, personalised private plates held on certificate, and SORN / scrapped records may not appear. If you think it should, message us and we'll investigate.
Does this count for buying a used car?
It's a useful first check (MOT, tax, mileage, CO2 band) but it isn't a full HPI check. For finance, write-off or stolen status, we recommend a paid vehicle history report in addition.
