DVLA Transfer Managed

You’ll receive your updated V5C or Certificate of Entitlement confirming your right to display the plate.

Get plates made by a registered supplier and inform insurance + any road charging accounts immediately. You can drive on the plates as soon as DVLA confirms the transfer.

Once a buyer commits, funds are secured in our client account before transfer proceeds.
Send Entitlement Docs
Provide your V5C logbook (plate on vehicle) or V778 retention document (plate off vehicle) so we can process.
DVLA Transfer
We manage the transfer. If plate was on your car, DVLA issues a replacement registration & new V5C.
Payment Released
Once DVLA confirms completion, cleared funds are released to your nominated bank account.

Eligibility & Legal
DVLA Golden Rule
- A plate cannot make the vehicle appear newer than it is.
- ‘Q’ registrations are non-transferable.
Vehicle Requirements
- DVLA registered & valid MOT (if required).
- Taxed or on SORN.
- Available for DVLA inspection if requested.
Certificates & Renewal
- V750 = Certificate of Entitlement (unassigned); V778 = Retention (taken off a vehicle).
- Keep originals safe. Certificates last 10 years and can be renewed to retain rights.
Fees
- DVLA transfer/retention fee is £80. Many new DVLA plates start from ~£250 (incl. VAT & fee).
- Physical plate manufacture is separate via registered suppliers.
Display & Notification
- Use a DVLA‑registered supplier; follow legal font/spacing/markings.
- Notify your insurer and any toll/parking services after assignment.
Restricted & Banned
- ‘Q’ registrations are non‑transferable.
- Offensive or disallowed combinations are blocked and cannot be assigned.

- Don’t post photos of V750/V778/V5C online—these can be misused. Share securely only when requested.
